CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Denison women's cross country team finished ninth out of 16 Division III team's at the 2019 All-Ohio Championship on Saturday.
Oberlin captured the Division III title with a total score of 50 points. Case Western finished second with 67 tallies, while Baldwin Wallace (73), Otterbein (94) and Kenyon (112) rounded out the top five in the team standings. The Big Red finished the day with 308 points.
Sophomore Emily Willson paced Denison with a time of 24:48.5. That time landed Willson in 43rd place. First-year Carolyn Trent was second on the team and 58th among Division III runners with a time of 25:23.9, while senior Erin O'Connor's time of 25:57.6 was good for 70th place.
Junior Sarah Radziewicz (26:15.9) and rookie Merritt Newton (26:44.6) rounded out the scoring for DU. Freshman Aileen Schretzmayer (27:12.5) was sixth on the squad, while junior Allie Holmes (27:20.2) clocked in with the team's seventh-best time.
Denison returns to action on October 12 when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take part in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
